Tulip and snowy fields

Trying to take our minds off of the cold winter weather by thinking of brightly colored tulip fields.

Then back to the cold wintery weather with these cute snowman cards.

Bird Houses

I always like this project. It's a fun way to introduce how to draw a house in a quick and simple format. Then it's always fun drawing little birds or just their eyes peeping out. Enjoy these.

Happy 100th Day of School!

Learning House Basics

Snoopy Fun

Yay for Snoopy!

Finished Projects

Finally, some of our Club House Artists finished their Warm/Cool fall tree drawings. These were created with oil pastels, watercolors, and acrylic paint. I love the texture they created in each square. It was a great touch to their drawings.

Positive and Negative Space

The Club House Artists did an exercise with positive and negative space using cut paper and paint. This project was a great example on how negative spaces can create a positive image.

Primary colors

The Club House Artists were given the task of drawing a cube and coloring it only using primary colors.

Some Mario fun with cylinders.

Warm Vs. Cool Continued

One class is using Oil Pastels for their warm vs. cool and the other is using marker. The Club House Artists are learning more about the power of warm and cool colors used against each other. Here's the start of their fall tree illustrations.

Homework Drawings

Here are some homework assignments turned in. . .

Techniques

The Club House Artists learned about two painting techniques this week. Glue resist and salt. They first drew their pumpkins and then traced their drawings with glue. We let that dry and then painted watercolors. They learned how salt on wet watercolors can add texture to their painting and also create neat effects in the paint.

Here's a homework assignment that came before this project. Notice the difference.
