Winter/Spring Show

Things have been busy around here and I've gotten very far behind on posting student artwork. I'm not a fan of doing a mass posting because it's nice to have titles to the postings to find later and a nice description of the projects, but this time I'm going to do a mass posting anyways. 

Many are from my newest Club House Artists.

Gestures and Shadows

The Club House Artists worked on gesture drawings tonight. We each took turns posing for the others to draw. Just quick, stickman like drawings. Then we took our favorite poses and created a wire and tin foil sculpture. Finally, we traced the shadow produced by our sculptures on the paper base. We learned we needed a larger paper base for the size of our sculpture.

Gustav Klimt Inspiration Paintings

The Club House Artists were learning about pattern and wanted to have some fun with paints and canvas, so we decided to learn about Gustav Klimt. We were drawn to Klimt's use of gold paint and wanted to make sure our paintings used gold as well. There was something angelic about the gold that we enjoyed. After studying four of his golden paintings we tried our hand at a similar style painting. Here's what the Club House Artists came up with:

Tulip and snowy fields

Trying to take our minds off of the cold winter weather by thinking of brightly colored tulip fields.

Then back to the cold wintery weather with these cute snowman cards.

Bird Houses

I always like this project. It's a fun way to introduce how to draw a house in a quick and simple format. Then it's always fun drawing little birds or just their eyes peeping out. Enjoy these.
