Illusions on lined paper

I love doodling. Especially interacting with existing drawings or surfaces. Lined school paper is the best to interact with. Here are some doodles the Club House Artists experimented with tonight.

Penguin Fun!

I spent most of the day looking at the super cute video from John Lewis's latest campaign with Monty the Penguin. It was uber adorbs and my daughter and I couldn't shake penguins from our minds. Never mind, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE penguins in the first place but this video was super cute. I'm also a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan, so it reminded me of the comic strip as well.
Here's the link incase you were also interested **WARNING!!*** You'll want to own a penguin after watching this video! : http://www.johnlewis.com/christmas-advert-2014-montys-christmas

Summer Craft Camp

Here are some of the projects from this year's summer craft camp.

Fairy (bubble)wands

We used sticks, wire, feathers, beads, and ribbon to make these fairy bubble wands. I think these are still my most favorite functional craft project with kids.

Fairy Doors

Made to place by their favorite tree.

Critter Keeper Necklaces

These are for those summer evenings when the lightning bugs come out or out on a hike. We used: beads, glow in the dark beads, cording, and gum ball machine capsules.

Stepping Stones

Using mosaics, glass gems, and stamps, we created stepping stones. This picture is the still wet photo of a few of them. The kids took home their stones so I didn't get a finished photo.

Found Object masks

Using items that we've been collecting, the kids created masks or creatures.

Gem Suncathers

A more difficult project for the younger campers. But so pretty!

Beach Houses

Last class of the session and I had to skiddaddle out early before they were finished. They looked great when I left. These beach houses were created with watercolors using all the techniques they had been learning from previous weeks.
