Hedgehogs and Birdies

The Club House Artists created hedgehog planters from air dry clay. We are growing grass in them and can't wait to share those photos.

Final project with grass

These are some more fabric mache bird sculptures. Their bodies are made of foil then wrapped with fabric in a 50/50 glue and water solution. Clay base and wire legs.

In remembrance of M&M

The Club House Artists lost a friend today. M&M has gone to doggy heaven to pounce around the clouds. Here are their drawings. We talked about using lots of patterns.

Pridelands & Robins

With a mighty "ROAR" our Club House Artists sketched out these fantastic lions on Pride Rock.

And our small fries made these birdie collages.

Instructor Project

I thought you'd like to see a project I recently worked on. This is an antique saw blade that I painted for my parents. It's a picture of the valley where they have their home. It's acrylic.

Some details of the homes and me floating down the river.

Hedgehog Planters

These cute little hedgehog planters will sprout grass when they dry and we can add soil and seeds. I can't wait to see their green spikes. This project was a bit challenging for our 1st graders. I'd recommend 4-5th grade for this project. Keeping the right thickness for all the parts seemed to challenge the younger artists. We used Amaco brand moist air dry clay for this project. I've used the Crayola brand air dry clay before and it cracked easily frustrating everyone.
